Stefan stares at the words as well as the blank space beneath it, and he isn't sure he has anything else to go with it. The idea of saying goodbye to Damon isn't something he's prepared for. The idea that there's a chance Damon may not come back ... it's not something he wants to think about. Ever.
Still, he knows that Damon is doing a good thing. An important thing. This war is going to change the face of the country as they knew it, and that kind of change is a good thing. That doesn't mean he wants to lose his brother in the process.
He's sitting in his room, staring at the blank page in front of him, and tries not to think about Damon dying. The fact that they're too young to die is most prominent in his mind, but it's Damon's choice, and their father is so proud.
It has to be the right thing to do.
